Sharpen is a project dedicated to all those who want to have more autonomy in their daily life, by making things themselves. We offer workshops in dozens of manual skills such as renovation, sewing, crafts, zero waste, bicycle, woodwork…
We are here to support you in your projects and show you how to build, upcycle and repair. We believe that with a little help we can all develop our manual skills and become sharper.

Our learning classes
Sharpen offers collective classes every day, taught by an expert, to develop manual skills: woodwork, sewing, knitting, zero waste, electricity, renovation, etc.
The classes are designed to make you autonomous and ready to tackle those everyday tasks that you don’t know how to handle.
By the end of the class, you too will be a proud DIY-er. In the majority of cases, you’ll leave the class with your own creation at the end!

I took a woodworking workshop with Raymond as my teacher and it was a wonderful experience. Raymond has a very positive and contagious energy and his passion for teaching was very obvious. He walked us through each step of our project (building a wooden plant stand) with patience, taking the time to answer all our questions, and he gave us such a positive experience. I'd highly recommend taking any class with Les Affûtés, but specifically any woodworking workshop with Raymond.
Loved my first experience at Les Affûtés! I built a portmanteau with zero experience and zero confidence but gained it all thanks to our attentive prof and great classmates.
Best gift I have to myself this year; looking forward to more woodworking classes in the future to build even more skills and confidence.Omg I love this place and I am so happy I found them!!! I want to take all their classes. I took their tiling class for the first time this Monday and I felt so proud of the little thing I did in such short time. That's also the good part for me - the workshops are short and sweet and get to the point....you don't have to be dragged on through endless classes and studies just to get precisely the skill you need. I am so happy they exist. I've written down the list of workshops my husband and I will be taking over the next few weeks so that we are able to renovate our home ourselves. Their mission is to give back autonomy and I could not be more aligned with that spirit. Our teacher was Cedrik and he was lovely, bilingual, kind and fun. You can also rent their woodworking space/workshop if you need (after taking a course learning to use the tools). I look forward to more!!
Very, VERY happy with the class I took here to learn about cheesemaking. The class was not too large (we were twelve), fully equipped, very well framed yet not so strict we had no margin for error or experimenting. The person giving the class was fantastic, and I am definitely looking forward to my next one!
They also have bilingual classes (English or French), which is another plus. Furthermore, the sheer variety in them means this is a gift that keeps giving. For those who do not have the equipment to redo these things (like me), Les Affûtés also offers "open" classes, which is yet another major bonus!

Our mission
The project of Sharpen is born from the fusion of two desires:
- Fight against the programmed obsolescence of quickly bought, quickly thrown away objects
- Give or give back to each of us the pride of knowing how to do it by ourselves.
Everything we do is organized around this battle.
And we are proud to have chosen the status that goes with this battle: B Corp. The B Corps are projects, like Sharpen, who think that we can use the Inc status to achieve beautiful things, and put our mission before our profit.
